Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics

The Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics Division of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston aims to enhance children’s opportunities for success by providing individualized research-based clinical services. Housed at the Dan L Duncan Neurodevelopmental Clinic, within the Children’s Learning Institute (CLI), in the Texas Medical Center, our Division consists of interdisciplinary professionals that work collaboratively at every stage of the care process. Our locations in the heart of the world’s largest medical center and north suburbs position us at the forefront of leading-edge treatment solutions.

We recognize that the challenges faced by children with developmental concerns are not always linked to a simple medical or psychological diagnosis. These are complex neurodevelopmental issues in which multiple developmental concerns likely overlap and require a comprehensive look at every child. This understanding guides our approach to utilizing patient-centered, evidence-based methods in our diagnostic evaluations and treatment interventions.

A strength of the Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics Division is the strong clinical and educational collaboration between the Children’s Learning Institute, Division of Child Neurology, and Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Clinicians and trainees have a unique experience in learning from a multidisciplinary team as we address neurodevelopmental conditions from all angles.
