Resident Life
Resident salaries are determined by UT Houston GME and a full payment scale can be found here. In addition to salaried benefits, residents are covered with full medical benefits. Vision and dental can be obtained at marginal costs. Basic life insurance is also provided through the UT Houston GME provider. Dependents may be added at the start of each year or with major events (marriage, child-birth) at a discounted rate.
Resident life is an integral part of our pediatric residency and events are sponsored throughout the year including resident happy hours, class retreats, annual holiday parties and yearly graduation ceremonies with families. Residents also have access to the Rec Center, which features an olympic sized pool as well as cutting edge exercise equipment, wellness classes, group exercise, and group sports activities.
