Mary E. Aitken, MD, MPH, is Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at McGovern Medical school and Physician-in-Chief at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. She holds the Dan L Duncan Distinguished University Chair in Pediatrics. She is a member of the Division of Community and General Pediatrics. Areas of Expertise include General Pediatrics, Childhood Injury Epidemiology and Prevention.

Sushma Raman Hebbar, MD, CAQSM, Associate Program Director
Sushma R. Hebbar, MD, CAQSM, is an attending physician in the Division of General Academic Pediatrics. She integrates her clinical interests in general pediatrics and sports medicine with a dedication to outpatient curriculum innovation, resident mentorship, and career pathway development.
Nikita Khetan, MD, Associate Program Director
Nikita Khetan, MD, is an associate professor in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine where she provides inpatient care at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. She is passionate about resident education and is dedicated to creating an engaging, supportive learning environment that fosters clinical excellence, curiosity, and professional growth. She enjoys mentoring residents in clinical care, scholarship, and leadership while helping prepare the next generation of pediatricians. Her academic interests include competency-based medical education, resident coaching and mentorship, learner assessment, and medical education research.
