ITP is a common childhood illness which is usually benign and temporary, but can sometimes be chronic or refractory to treatment.  The Pediatric Hematologists at UTHealth see children with acute, self-resolving or chronic ITP.  Care is coordinated through UT Physicians clinics and Memorial Hermann Hospital
