National Injury Prevention Day and Month
November is National Injury Prevention Month and the official color is green, which symbolizes
positive change, safety, health, growth and prosperity — all things that ensure children thrive!
Throughout the year, but with particular emphasis in November, the Injury Prevention Team participates in community events to raise awareness and provide resources and education about injury prevention. These efforts culminate in National Injury Prevention Day when the team goes GREEN to inform the public on how to avoid unintentional injury to their children and the children in their communities. We try to make the biggest splash possible, lighting up buildings and other key landmarks in injury-prevention green to pique curiosities about car seat safety, firearm locks, safe sleep, suicide prevention and other important topics affecting child safety.
Community Outreach: We’ll come to you!
