Pediatric Residency Application and Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed holistically, which means no one will be excluded simply because of a single score, school, country of origin, etc. We will evaluate each applicant based on the features we have observed to predict 1) success in our program and 2) contribution to the mission of our institution. Both of these factors are considered in the context of competitiveness with our overall applicant pool.
We require that you have passing USMLE Step 1 and 2 scores and do not have a minimum score cut-off. We do not require Step 2 completion by the time applications open but will require it by the time we rank applicants in February.
We prefer that you have graduated from medical school within the last three years.
Applications for PGY-1 resident positions are accepted only through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS).
DO Applicants: We will accept either USMLE or COMLEX scores. Pediatric inpatient experience is required with a letter of recommendation from this inpatient experience highly preferred.
International Medical Graduates: Applicants must be Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certified prior to applying to our program via ERAS. Applicants must have clinical experience in the US with at least two letters of recommendation from faculty in the US who have observed the applicant’s clinical skills. J1-Visas are sponsored through the Graduate Medical Education Office.
