Summer Research Program Application

The program begins on Monday, June 8, 2026, and concludes on Thursday, July 2, 2026. Completed applications must be received by January 15, 2026. Successful applicants will join laboratories based on their preferred choices. Didactic courses covering introductory laboratory biochemistry and molecular biology principles and techniques will be presented on Monday mornings (9 AM-12 PM). Fridays will be reserved for student-driven seminars and workshops with lunch served. The fee of $3,800 includes registration, parking, and lab coats. Housing is not provided.

High school students at least 16 years of age by the start of the program are eligible to apply. Ideal candidates will be rising juniors or seniors who have a strong interest in pursuing a career in biomedical sciences or medicine. Please fill out the following form. Letters of reference: You must request letters from two referees. The referees should send their letters directly to Dr. John Putkey ([email protected]). One referee may be a person whom you know personally and who is preferably a professional in the fields of medicine or biomedical research.
