Welcome to the Department of Family & Community Medicine’s Medical Student Education Program!
The specialty of Family Medicine is a unique specialty that focuses on providing lifelong comprehensive healthcare to people of all ages from newborns to older adults. Family Physicians develop long standing relationships with patients, families, and communities to help improve overall health and wellbeing. This includes providing healthcare for acute complaints management of chronic diseases, providing care to patients when hospitalized or in a nursing home, and helping patients navigate the healthcare system. We are privileged at McGovern to offer a robust experience in family medicine spanning the four years of medical school.
