Akshata Moghe, MD, PhD, assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition, and colleagues recently published research examining the use of intravenous hemin to prevent recurrent attacks of acute hepatic porphyria, a rare group of metabolic disorders for which conducting randomized controlled trials can be challenging.
