UTHealth Audiology Program Expands

Two new audiologists have joined the staff of UTHealth Audiology, which operates a hearing, tinnitus and balance clinic directed by Nabil Al-Muhtaseb, MB, CHB, MS, CCC-A.,  UTPhysicians audiologist affiliated with Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital and Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.

Chris F. Araj, AuD, received the Doctor of Audiology degree from Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland, in May 2011.  In 2009, he was the recipient of the university’s Starkey Outstanding Student Clinician Scholarship.  Dr. Araj completed a one-year residency in audiology at Bay Area ENT Specialists in Clear Lake and Pearland, Texas, prior to joining UTHealth Audiology.  He graduated summa cum laude from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders.  He speaks conversational Arabic and is fluent in American Sign Language.

Stephanie Anderson, AuD, received her doctorate in audiology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in May 2011.  She received her bachelor’s degree at the University of North Texas in May 2007 in speech-language pathology/audiology.  Dr. Anderson’s clinical experience includes service as a graduate assistant from May 2008 to May 2009 at TTUHSC.

In their new roles, the two audiologists will provide services to UTHealth Audiology’s growing patient base.
