Best Doctors in America is the result of more than two decades of work conducting the largest continuous independent survey of the medical profession, which mimics the informal peer-to-peer process doctors use to identify the right specialists for their patients. Polling and balloting software are used to gather the insight and experience of tens of thousands of leading specialists across the country. Credentials and specific areas of expertise are confirmed by researchers.
According to the Best Doctors website, “These are the doctors that other doctors recognize as the best in their fields.” Physicians may not nominate or vote for themselves and do not pay a fee to be listed.
