Biography

Shiva Daram, MD, MBA, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology. He completed his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at Northwestern University, where he was nominated to the Tau Beta Pi National Honor Society. Dr. Daram came to Houston for medical school and received his degree from Baylor College of Medicine. While studying at Baylor, he also earned an MBA from the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University and was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Houston Business Honor Society.

Dr. Daram completed his residency with the Department of Otolaryngology – Head And Neck Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and followed it with a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Northwestern University in Chicago. He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and is a member of both the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery and the Society of University Otolaryngologists. Dr. Daram has contributed to numerous articles, book chapters, and presentations.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Daram treats a wide variety of issues including ear infections, hearing loss, sleep apnea and sleep disordered breathing, diseases of the tonsils and adenoids, chronic sinusitis, pediatric neck masses including thyroid diseases, and other conditions of the nose and paranasal sinuses, speech and swallow dysfunction, and voice issues.
