Otorhinolaryngology Grand Rounds Are Available Online for CME Credit

UTHealth Otorhinolaryngology Grand RoundsGrand Rounds presented by the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston are now available online for continuing medical education (CME) credits. Physicians from other institutions and those in private practice are invited to join the department’s monthly presentation of interesting and challenging cases. Free CME credits are available for participants who view the content within the first 24 hours after posting of the video content.

“In addition to presentations by our own faculty, residents, and fellows, we invite speakers from academic institutions across the country, as well as industry representatives who share information about advances in technology,” says W. Katherine Kao, MD, a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and assistant professor of otorhinolaryngology at McGovern Medical School. “Making our Grand Rounds available allows us to stay connected with our community of physicians.”

Online attendance at a Grand Rounds presentation offers physicians 1 CME credit approved by the Texas Medical Board. The regularly scheduled presentation features one or more actual cases that illustrate a selected topic to other health care professionals, particularly those in training. The presentations foster discussion and provide information about the science of otorhinolaryngology and updates from the medical literature.

The department holds Grand Rounds at 7 a.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. Topics are posted on the department’s website.
