Biography

Mohamed Darwish, MD, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, is a graduate of Cairo University’s Faculty of Medicine, where he ranked in the top 10% of his class and earned “Excellent with Honor” grades. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology at Cairo University hospitals, which serves a large population in metropolitan Cairo, before accepting a position at the New Kasr El-Aini Teaching Hospital.

Dr. Darwish is know for his strong work ethic and dedication, reflected in his achievements during his MSc, MD, and USMLE studies. To further his education, he came to the United States where he gained significant experience during his observerships and research fellowships at the Louisiana Spine and Pain Institute and the Sinus and Nasal Specialists of Louisiana. During this time, Dr. Darwish published multiple studies, including those related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He then completed two clinical fellowships in the USA: a two-year program at the Maryland Nose and Sinus Center followed by one year in the Advanced Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where he handled a diverse clinical and surgical caseload.

Dr. Mohamed Darwish is committed to lifelong learning, compassionate patient care, and strong communication with colleagues. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities, reading, and travelling.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Darwish has clinical interests in all aspects of otolaryngology including chronic rhinosinusitis, sinonasal tumors, allergies and minimally invasive, office-based procedures for the nose and sinuses.
