Congratulations to Our Graduate Residents

September 3, 2025

Class of 2025: D. Allen, MD; B. Cameron, MD; K. Shetty, MDDavid Allen, MD, Brian Cameron, MD, and Kunal Shetty, MD, have completed their residency training in comprehensive otorhinolaryngology-head and neck surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. Dr. Allen leaves the Department of Otorhinolaryngology to begin fellowship training in head and neck endocrinology at Emory University in Atlanta. Dr. Cameron will go on to Vanderbilt University in Nashville as a neurorhinology fellow, and Dr. Shetty will join Baylor Scott & White Health in Austin as a comprehensive otolaryngologist.

“Our chief residents worked hard during their five years with us, and we are pleased to see them move on to the next phase in their lives,” says William C. Yao, MD, chief of rhinology, residency program director, and an associate professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at McGovern Medical School. “All three contributed to the care of our patients, produced research, and presented at national conferences. I look forward to seeing the contributions they make to their respective communities.”

The otolaryngology residency program provides comprehensive training to physicians in preparation for certification by the American Board of Otolaryngology. The department’s faculty supervise, instruct, and mentor resident physicians through bedside inpatient evaluations, outpatient care, operative care, and structured learning experiences, including formal lectures and dissection laboratories. They also introduce residents to the real-world issues of medicine in the United States.
