Dr. Nicholas Rossi Joins UTHealth Houston’s Pediatric ENT Team

February 3, 2026

Nicholas Rossi, MDPediatric otorhinolaryngologist Nicholas A. Rossi, MD has joined the faculty of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston as an assistant professor. Dr. Rossi will see children and adolescents at the department’s new satellite clinic located in the UT Physicians Pediatric Multispecialty Clinic on the campus of Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital as well as the department’s main office located in the Texas Medical Center.

Dr. Rossi’s path to medicine began close to home: two knee surgeries at UTHealth Houston during high school introduced him to health care in a personal way. A native Houstonian, he graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in biology and completed medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, graduating in 2019 with honors. He completed residency training in otolaryngology at the same institution and went on to fellowship training in pediatric otolaryngology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

“Returning to Houston was an easy decision,” Dr. Rossi says. “The otorhinolaryngology department has an outstanding reputation for patient care, education, and collegiality, and it’s meaningful to me to contribute to the community where I grew up.”

Clinically, he focuses on pediatric sleep apnea, noisy breathing in infants and children, recurrent and chronic sinusitis, pediatric neck masses, pediatric hearing loss, and surgical procedures such as intracapsular tonsillectomy, endoscopic sinus surgery, and tympanoplasty. His research interests include adenotonsillectomy for obstructive sleep apnea, perioperative safety in children with sleep-disordered breathing, and the role of social media and AI in pediatric ENT.

“I believe that caring for children carries a special responsibility,” he says. “They have their whole lives ahead of them, and by helping them, we’re shaping a lifetime of health. That sense of long-term impact is the most rewarding part of my work.”

Dr. Rossi serves on the editorial board of Translational Pediatrics and is a peer reviewer for ENT Dosed Daily—Pediatrics, a daily online question service for practicing otolaryngologists as well as residents and fellows in training. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including Laryngoscope; International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology; Journal of Craniofacial Surgery; Otology & Neurotology Open; and the Ear, Nose & Throat Journal, among others. He has presented nationally and internationally.

Dr. Rossi wrestled competitively in high school, earning two state championships and All-American honors. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, working out, fishing, and following Houston and Texas Longhorn sports.

“Collaboration is central to pediatric care, and I look forward to working alongside colleagues across disciplines,” he says. “I’m also excited about mentoring residents and medical students – paying forward the guidance I’ve received. But I’m most excited about building lasting relationships with patients, families, and trainees as I begin a new chapter here at UTHealth Houston.”
