Ibrahim “Trey” Alava, MD
Ibrahim Alava, MD, is assistant professor in the Department Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He received his medical degree from The University of Miami, Miami, FL. After medical school he completed his internship and residency at the University of Texas – Medical School at Houston. His clinical interests include new innovations in treatment of subglottic stenosis, endocrine head and neck surgery, skin cancers of the head and neck, and all aspects of general otolaryngology. Dr. Alava’s research interests revolve around patient-centered outcomes and health care disparities in the underserved. Currently, he and Dr. Weinstock have a research platform examining the outcomes with respect quality of life and patient satisfaction in their head and neck cancer population at Harris Health-Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital.
