Claire N. Singletary, MS, CGC, celebrates 20 years as director of the UTHealth Houston Genetic Counseling Program. To recognize her years of transformative leadership, the Medical Genetics Division created the Claire Singletary Genetic Counseling Excellence Award to be given to one outstanding genetic counseling student starting in 2027.

Rebecca Baddock (pictured above, fourth from left) has dedicated an incredible 32 years to the Department of Pediatrics, including 20 years as senior program manager in the Division of Child Safety and Integrated Care and 12 years with the Division of Medical Genetics prior to that.

Child Safety and Integrated Care Division Chief Michelle Ruda, MD, jumped at the chance to honor Rebecca’s service. “Throughout her tenure, Becky has been an integral part of the team, playing a vital role in shaping the way we care for our patients and families. Her hard work, loyalty, and unwavering commitment have left a lasting impact on our Department and the community we serve. While we will deeply miss her as both a colleague and a friend, we are grateful for the legacy she leaves behind. We wish one of the very best a well-deserved and joyful retirement,” Dr. Ruda said.
