Medical Biochemical Genetics Fellowship Program

The Medical Biochemical Genetics Fellowship is a 12-month ACGME-accredited program designed to prepare physicians for a career in diagnosing and managing inborn errors of metabolism (IEM). Fellows gain comprehensive training through inpatient, outpatient, and laboratory rotations at leading institutions in the Texas Medical Center.
The diverse clinical rotations, comprehensive curriculum, and structured didactics and conferences are competitive advantages of the Medical Biochemical Genetics Fellowship. Competency-based training enables fellows to develop across six ACGME core competencies:
Patient care: Compassionate, evidence-based management of metabolic disorders
Medical knowledge: Deep understanding of biochemical pathways and therapeutic rationale
Interpersonal skills: Effective communication with families and healthcare teams

Requirements
- J1-ViSA, USA Green Card, or USA citizenship
- Completion of an approved medical genetics program with eligibility or certification in clinical medical genetics from the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG)
