Clinical Expertise

Compassionate patient care is a hallmark of the Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Division and is part of the UTHealth Houston culture. “The care we offer our patients is important, but just as important is the way we interact with them. I want them to know they matter,” says Division Director Ricardo Mosquera, MD, MPH (above left).
In addition to outpatient care, the Division of Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine provides inpatient clinical services at Children’s Memorial Hermann, a teaching hospital with a strong academic environment. Our experienced physician-scientists receive funding from the National Institutes of Health for investigations into the basic and clinical mechanisms of lung disorders in children to continually expand our knowledge base. The scientific information generated from our studies has transformed medical care, particularly in children with complex medical conditions. This research has shaped the development of a variety of programs that better serve patients with respiratory diseases as well as critically ill children with rare and complex disorders, such as those listed below.
UTHealth Houston is pleased to offer a broader team to address allergy and immunology issues specifically: the newly established Allergy/Immunology Division.
