The McGovern Medical School Office of Educational Programs offers this ten-week learning opportunity to U.S. undergraduate students and first-year medical school students. The Department of Pediatrics is pleased to offer our own version of this program to give participants an individualized, approachable experience in the rewarding realm of pediatric research and innovation. Participants work directly with one of our award-winning faculty mentors to advance the goals of child health and well-being through research and will also have access to some additional benefits.

SRP Lunch & Learns

Each Friday during the program, participants are invited to have lunch with one of our pediatric faculty — on us! This is an informal gathering where these expert providers share their day-to-day experiences and answer real questions about work-life balance, wins and losses, and what it’s like to be in this field at this time. We welcome the chance to get to know our SRP students as humans first and provide a safe space to be curious.

Conferences and Networking

The Department of Pediatrics is also pleased to provide SRP students with the chance to attend a major conference. Up-and-coming physician-scientists can share their research and make valuable connections that can help them build a thriving career.
