Alia Warner, PhD, is an Associate Professor and Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She is the Managing Director of the UTHealth Psychosis Specialty Clinic and provides evidence-based psychosocial interventions for individuals with schizophrenia spectrum and related disorders.
Dr. Warner is the Director of Clinical Training for Clinical Psychology graduate programs within the School of Behavioral Health Sciences. She is highly involved in education, training, and supervision of psychology and psychiatry trainees. She is also involved in various national and international organizations that aim to promote high quality serious mental illness (SMI) training programs, professional practices within the specialty of SMI, and dissemination of SMI research. She is a founding member and current board member of the American Board of SMI Psychology, a specialty board of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP).
Dr. Warner attained her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Florida State University and completed her internship in Clinical Psychology at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC). She sought additional specialized training as a postdoctoral resident at MEDVAMC via the SMI emphasis track. She is board-certified in Clinical Psychology and SMI Psychology.
