Biography

Caesa Nagpal, MD, ABPN, PMH-C, is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and an attending physician at UTHealth Harris County Psychiatric Center (HCPC). She joined the department in 2015 after completing her general psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and her medical degree at Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Punjab, India. Dr. Nagpal provides advanced adult psychiatric services in the inpatient acute care units at UTHealth HCPC, with a particular interest in diagnosing and treating psychotic, mood, and anxiety disorders. In 2025, she obtained her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C), reflecting her longstanding dedication to this area of care. Beyond her clinical role, she is an active educator and scholar who has presented her work at national conferences, including the American Psychiatric Association Annual Meeting. She is deeply committed to the training of the next generation of psychiatrists, serving as a core teaching faculty member for medical students, residents, and observers. Her teaching contributions have been recognized with the Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award for seven consecutive years, earning her designation as an Esteemed Educator and induction into the Academy of Master Educators at McGovern Medical School in 2024.
