Dr. Olmos is a board-certified psychiatrist who values being an empathic listener for her patients, with specific interests in anxiety disorders, mood disorders, cultural psychiatry, women’s mental health and medical education. She is currently an assistant professor at the Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and an Attending Psychiatrist at the UT Physicians Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic, where she also has a leadership role in the Anxiety Clinic.
Dr. Olmos is one of the attending physicians supervising the residents in the Third Year Psychiatry Resident Clinic, and has been involved with multiple research projects at the UT Center of Excellence on Mood Disorders.
She completed her medical school and general psychiatry residency initially at Faculdade de Ciências Médicas Santa Casa de São Paulo, Brazil where she has subsequently started her academic career. As a board-certified psychiatrist in Brazil, she completed extensive clinical work in very diversified and challenging settings before moving to the U.S. She has then completed a new residency training at UT Health Houston after her move, achieving her board certification in the US as well.
Originally from Brazil, Dr. Olmos is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
