Biography

Carolina Olmos, MD is currently an Assistant Professor at the Faillace Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, with specific interests in depression, anxiety, mood disorders and transcultural psychiatry. She is currently a provider in the Treatment Resistant Depression clinic part of the Center of Excellence on Mood Disorders and also one of the attending physicians supervising the residents in the Third Year Psychiatry Resident Clinic. Up until recently, she was the chief resident of the UT Health residency program, when she was the recipient of the Robert Guynn MD Graduating Resident Award.

Olmos has completed her medical school and general psychiatry residency initially at Faculdade de Ciências Médicas Santa Casa de São Paulo, Brazil and later became an attending physician supervising residents for the same institution. Olmos is a board-certified psychiatrist in Brazil where she completed extensive clinical work in very diverse and challenging setting before moving to the United States. Originally from Brazil, Olmos is also fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
