Biography

Charoo Chouhan, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, is a child and adolescent psychiatrist at UT Physicians Pediatric Center – Cinco Ranch. Chouhan believes the psychiatrist, patient and their family must work together to accomplish the desired goal. She notes that it is important to provide the patient and their family with accurate information about their diagnosis including options of treatment. Her areas of clinical interest include attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder in children and adolescents, major depressive disorder, anxiety disorder, pediatric bipolar disorder, and psychopharmacological treatment.

Chouhan received her medical education from Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India and completed her psychiatry residency and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Harlem Hospital Center in New York. She is also a member several associations including the Texas Society of Psychiatrist Physicians and the American Psychiatry Association. In her free time, she enjoys spending with her kids and family.
