Dr. Mohammad Milad (Moh) is a John S. Dunn Endowed Chair, and a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He holds multiple leadership roles, including Executive Director of the Center for Affective Neuroscience and Computations, Vice Chair for Behavioral Neuroscience Research, and Training Director of the Neuroimaging Fellowship Program.
Dr. Milad earned his PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience at Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico and did his post-doctoral training at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr Milad and his team use state-of-the-art neuroimaging and computational neuroscience tools to understand how fear is learned and controlled in the human brain, and how dysregulation of brain mechanisms related to fear control might contribute to psychopathology.
Dr. Milad’s research is focused on women’s health and understanding how hormones such as estrogen may interact with fear regulation in women. He has published numerous articles in high impact journals, and his research has been continuously funded by multiple grants from NIH, DOD, and private foundations.
