Biography

Dr. Glover is an Assistant Professor in the UTHealth Houston Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, at McGovern Medical School.  She is a Licensed Psychologist and Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator. She believes that providing holistic services through integrated care is fundamental for increasing wellness. Therapeutically, Dr. Glover believes that attending to contextual factors provide genuine opportunities for individuals to be their authentic selves. Dr. Glover also uses a trauma informed lens to understand how societal factors impact mental health. This, in turn, facilitates a sense of safety and connection, which she views as central to healing and successful client health outcomes.

Dr. Glover completed her postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Psychology. There she provided culturally informed therapy services to adults with chronic mental illness and provided evidenced based treatment to individuals with marginalized intersecting identities. Many of Dr. Glover’s past experiences are the foundation for her continued belief that communal support, and thoughtful interventions are essential to client and community wellness.

Dr. Glover enjoys teaching, consultation, supervision, and research. She has supervised APA doctoral interns, taught didactics, and provided extensive training on psychological assessments. Previously, she created companywide systematic interventions to improve the mental health of employees. Now she incorporates her love of teaching, and scholarship into childbirth education services. She aims to aid families obtain the knowledge they need to experience healthy birth outcomes and postpartum support.
