Biography

Karina Turner, PsyD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She is a licensed psychologist with primary clinical interests in forensic evaluation. She has clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings including detention centers, community mental health, residential programs, and medical and psychiatric hospitals.

Dr. Turner provides inpatient psychological services to adults across the Harris County Psychiatric Center and the Dunn Behavioral Sciences Center. She also provides education and supervision to psychology interns, residents, and practicum students rotating within the Dunn Behavioral Sciences Campus.

Dr. Turner earned her doctorate degree in Clinical/School Psychology at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department – Forensic Unit in Houston, Texas.
