Biography

Lucas R. Trambaiolli, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. His research integrates cross-species neuroanatomy, multimodal neuroimaging, and computational approaches to identify circuit-level biomarkers and develop precision neuromodulation strategies for psychiatric disorders, particularly obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and major depressive disorder (MDD).

Dr. Trambaiolli received his PhD in Neuroscience and Cognition from the Federal University of ABC (Brazil), following interdisciplinary training in biomedical engineering, machine learning, and brain–computer interfaces. He completed postdoctoral and early faculty training in neuroanatomy and translational psychiatry at McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School, where he established a cross-species program linking non-human primate tract-tracing with human neuroimaging.

Before joining UTHealth Houston, he served as an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. His work has been supported by competitive national and international funding, including an NIH K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award. He has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals such as Neuron, NeuroImage, Neuropsychopharmacology, Biological Psychiatry, and eLife, and has delivered invited lectures and workshops internationally.
