Alyssa Rodriquez

Alyssa Rodriguez is a Program Coordinator for Youth Aware of Mental Health program at UT Health Houston. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas Pan American and a Master of Arts in Mental Health and Wellness Counseling from Angelo State University.  Throughout her career, Alyssa has worked with youth in school and community settings in the areas of case management, prevention education, and group facilitation at the local and state levels.

Her interests include helping adolescents learn coping skills with issues related to managing anger, peer pressure, healthy decision making, and academic excellence. Being raised in a predominantly Hispanic region of the state, she loves to help and reach out to Spanish speaking youth and their families to inform them of mental health resources among others that are available to them.  Coming from a family of first-generation Americans, she is an advocate for education and success and believe no barriers shall prevent that.
