Ana Esparza

Ana Esparza, is the parent of three sons two of which have Autism. Ana attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She taught third grade at the Buen Pastor Bilingual Private School in San Pedro Sula Honduras.

She has lived in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Toronto, Canada. In Ft. Lauderdale she worked for Family Network on Disabilities as a Family Support Specialist. She would accompany parents to IEP meetings and guide them through the Special Education Process.

When she moved back to Texas, she worked for the federally funded parent training and information center of Texas, Partners Resource Network as a Regional Coordinator where she worked with families across Houston and surrounding areas teaching them on how to navigate the special education system as well as conducting workshops to families and professionals on Special Education and 504 topics in Spanish and English. She also helped prepare parents for ARD/504 Meetings. She organized annual Special Education Conferences and Resource Fairs for parents and professionals. Ana worked for Partners Resource Network for 9 years.

In November of 2022 Ana was hired by The Arc of Harris County as an Educational Parent Advocate leading the Right to Learn Program. She worked with families across Harris County advocating for students with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism.

Ana currently sits on the Brazos Bend Guardianship Services Board of Trustees as a board member. She enjoys spending time with her husband of 25 years Miguel as well as her sons Miguel, Jose and Christian. Ana is a cantor at her church and coordinates the Special Needs Mass. She also serves on the outreach ministry helping families in need.
