Center for Neurobehavioral Research on Addiction (CNRA)
Welcome to the Center for Neurobehavioral Research on Addiction (CNRA) in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Our mission is to develop evidence-based treatment for substance use disorders (SUD) using decisions informed by behavioral neurosciences.
Directed by Joy Schmitz, PhD, Louis A. Faillace Professor and Scott D. Lane, PhD, professor and vice chair of Research, CNRA consists of a multidisciplinary team of substance abuse researchers including addiction psychiatrists, addiction psychologists, addiction medicine specialists, licensed professional counselors, nurses, pharmacists and research assistants. CNRA also offers an outpatient clinic providing treatment for drug addiction, including smoking, alcoholism, use of illegal substances and abuse of prescription medications.
