Ebony Pepin

Ebony Pepin is the Senior Program Manager for Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) at UTHealth Houston’s Louis A. Faillace, MD Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. In this role, she leads the implementation and expansion of YAM, an evidence-based youth suicide prevention and mental health promotion program serving schools and communities across Texas.

Ebony earned her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and combines her expertise in program management, mental health education, and clinical practice to support youth, families, and communities. Prior to joining UTHealth Houston, she managed behavioral health programs serving military populations through the Department of Defense.

A passionate advocate for youth mental health and suicide prevention, Ebony led the development of the YAMbassadors Program, a leadership and professional development initiative designed to cultivate future mental health advocates and strengthen community engagement. She is committed to expanding access to mental health education, reducing stigma, and empowering young people to seek help, support one another, and thrive.
