Biography

J. Chase Findley, MD, attending physician at UTHealth Harris County Psychiatric Center, is director of Medical Student Education and assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

Findley coordinates all aspects of psychiatric training and education across each of the four years of the McGovern Medical School curriculum. He is a member of the Curriculum Committee and serves as co-director of the Nervous System & Behavior Module and director of the Psychiatry Clerkship. He also serves as the faculty advisor for the Student Interest Group in Neurology and Psychiatry (SIGN/P) and has a special interest in preparing fourth-year medical students for residency applications and the transition to internship. Dr. Findley was awarded the 2018 DuPont Master Clinical Teaching Award by McGovern Medical School.

Findley completed medical school and psychiatry residency at UTHealth San Antonio before joining our department in 2013. His clinical interest is in the inpatient treatment of patients with severe mental illnesses, including mood disorders and schizophrenia.
