Biography

Jennifer Bahrman, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, is a licensed psychologist currently providing psychological services to students at the UTHealth Student Health and Counseling Services Clinic.

Bahrman earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston and completed her predoctoral internship at UTHealth and her postdoctoral fellowship at UTHealth-Harris County Psychiatric Center (UTHealth-HCPC). She has experience working with individuals across the lifespan in various settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, correctional detention centers, and schools. Her primary clinical interests include psychological testing, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, severe mental illness, and personality disorders.

As a clinician, Bahrman delivers services through the use of evidence-based interventions and treatment, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), while also tailoring her therapeutic approach to her patients’ individual needs. Thereby, she relies heavily on complementary theories and use of a multicultural lens when working with patients to facilitate patient growth and behavioral changes.

Additionally, Bahrman is involved in the department’s educational programming. She provides clinical supervision and training to psychology predoctoral interns, psychology externs, and psychiatry residents.
