Jun Yin, MD, PhD

Biography

Jun Yin, MD, PhD, assistant professor of psychiatry, is a board-certified psychiatrist with specialty in child and adolescent psychiatry. She received her medical degree in Tianjin Medical University in China. Yin then completed her residency training in general psychiatry at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship training at Carilion Clinic at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.

Yin specializes in the psychiatric care of children and adolescents, from age 3 up to age 18 years old, with emotional and behavioral disorders including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and psychotic disorders. She enjoys serving patients at UT Physicians Pediatric Center – Bay Area and UT Physicians Community Health and Wellness Center – Southwest and providing a comprehensive approach, including medication management and psychotherapy to children and adolescents. Yin is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association and American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is dedicated to being an advocate for children, adolescents and their families who suffer from mental illnesses. Her interests, in addition to medicine, include hiking, music, reading and cooking.
