Biography

Martin Huynh, MD, is an assistant professor of Psychiatry in the Faillace Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He received his MD from Baylor College of Medicine, where he completed an additional track in bioethics and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his general psychiatry residency at Baylor. He then completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry Washington University in St. Louis, where he served as a chief fellow. He is board-certified in adult psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Huynh is trained to evaluate and treat child and adolescents of all ages, including preschoolers, with whom he had special training in fellowship. He currently provides outpatient psychiatry services with the SB11 Team and its Community Psychiatry Workforce Expansion team. He recognizes the importance of psychotherapy, and that medication must be prescribed thoughtfully. He desires to empower his patients and their families on their journey to mental health. Outside of the clinic, Huynh is passionate about education and teaches learners of all stages from medical students to child psychiatry fellows. He also has interests in bioethics and the intersection of psychiatry and spirituality.
