Scott Lane, PhD, is the M.D. Anderson Foundation Professor and Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at the School for Behavioral Health Sciences. He is also Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Faillace Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the McGovern Medical School, and Director of Research at the Dunn Behavioral Science Campus hospitals (Harris County Psychiatric Center + Dunn Behavioral Science Center). Dr. Lane is co-director of the Center for Neurobehavioral Research on Addictions, and was a member of the Neuroscience program faculty in the MD Anderson-UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
Dr. Lane is a past recipient of the Wyeth Ayerst / American Psychological Association Young Psychopharmacologist Award and was an inaugural UTHealth Houston McGovern Research Scholar. His research focuses on: (1) addiction neuroscience and (2) outcomes research related to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. His work has been funded by NIH, DoD, private foundations, and industry. Dr. Lane has mentored more than 30 junior faculty, post-doctoral fellows, psychiatry residents, graduate students, and medical students.
