Study Description:
This study will investigate how our brain forms avoidance behaviors, extinguish fear, and how we decide between avoiding or facing our trauma-related stimuli. We hope that what we will learn from this study will help us improve treatment for PTSD and other anxiety disorders. Study procedures include an emotional learning and memory task and brain imaging. We first complete an initial in-person assessment to determine your eligibility. If you are eligible, you will be asked to complete 2 fMRI scans during 2 consecutive visits. There is 1 blood draw for female participants. We hope that what we will learn from this study will help us improve treatment for PTSD and other anxiety disorders.
