This study is currently looking for people who:

• Are Age 6 to 17 years old
• Have bipolar disorder
• Have one or more biological parents with bipolar disorder (parents have no other psychiatric or neurological conditions)
• No developmental or cognitive disorder (eg. ASD, schizophrenia, or severe neurological disorder)
• This study is also recruiting children and parents with no psychiatric diagnoses as a control group

Study Description:

This study aims to evaluate children affected by Bipolar Disorder, meaning either those who have Bipolar Disorder, OR children whose biological parent(s) have been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. The researchers are also looking for children and parents with no psychiatric diagnosis as a control group to complete brief visits. The study includes clinical and laboratory evaluations, an MRI scan, and long-term, prospective follow ups to monitor symptoms until the child reaches 25 years of age, all free of charge. This study includes yearly visits.

The children and young adults will be compensated for their time.
