Home-based tDCS for apathy in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias

This study aims to evaluate whether transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) – a non-invasive neuromodulation method – works in the treatment of apathy in people with Alzheimer’s disease (AD).

We welcome all participants over the age of 60 and with a diagnosis of AD to participate in this home-based study. The participants will be asked to use the device for 30 minutes a day for 6 weeks under the supervision of a trained research staff via videoconferencing software.
