Sabrina Tamayo

Sabrina Tamayo is an Education Specialist for the Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) program at UTHealth Houston and is passionate about promoting youth mental health and early intervention. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Houston and plans to continue her education.
Throughout her career, she has supported youth and adults facing mental health challenges by providing education, resources, and guidance that foster resilience and well-being. Before joining YAM, she worked as a Care Coordinator at the Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD, delivering intervention services, skills training, and case management. This experience strengthened her commitment to preventive mental health services and their role in helping young people build healthy coping skills and resilience. She is dedicated to empowering youth through mental health education.
