This study is currently looking for people who:
- Are 18 to 65 years old
- Have bipolar disorder and currently experiencing depression
Study Description:
The purpose of this placebo-controlled study is to test the use of one infusion of stem cells in addition to a mood stabilizing medication as a treatment for bipolar disorder. During the study, you will be asked to have a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of your brain and provide a blood sample. You will also be asked questions about your mood, drug use, other medical conditions, social support, and disability.
The adjunctive allogenic mesenchymal stem cells used for this study are a specific type obtained from donated bone marrow and are safely used as part of treating various other medical conditions.
All participants will be compensated for their time.
