Study Description:
Suvorexant is an FDA-approved insomnia medication specifically designed to improve sleep by targeting certain brain chemicals that regulate our sleep-wake cycle. Researchers want to investigate whether this medication could be beneficial for people who want to quit smoking and assess its impact on relapse risks such as cravings, withdrawal symptoms, and stress reactivity. We will ask you questions about these relapse risks and your sleep habits such as how long it takes to fall asleep, how often you wake up during the night, and the overall quality of your sleep. You will be asked additional questions about your mood, medical conditions, medication and current or past drug use, and you will be asked to provide a blood sample.
All participants will be compensated for their time.
