Program Overview
The Recovery-oriented Treatment Program (ROTP) is a voluntary, cost-free program offered to individuals who are motivated for recovery and meet program criteria. Housed within an acute inpatient unit, patients can stay up to 90 days, depending on individual needs and goals.
Participants work with treatment team members to identify, and work toward overcoming, barriers to move toward attaining patient-driven recovery goals to create and maintain meaningful lives.
The ROTP is a specialized treatment program that offers evidence-based and promising practices for serious mental illnesses, including:
- Medication management
- Evidence-based individual psychotherapy
- Group psychoeducation and psychotherapy
- Recreational therapy (including outings into the community once a week)
- Music therapy
- Social services
- Family/Loved one meetings (if desired)
- Spiritual services (if desired)
After a period of observation, patients are afforded day and weekend passes to leave the hospital to visit friends and family, attend to needs (e.g., external appointments, haircuts, getting an ID, interviewing for jobs), and practice skills they have learned.
