Travis Turner

Travis TurnerTravis Turner, MS, ATC, LAT is an Athletic Trainer and Operations specialist with experience at multiple levels of sport and Healthcare Organizations.  He worked as an Athletic Trainer with the St. Louis Rams (2012-2013) and the Houston Texans (2013-2019) of the NFL.  With the Houston Texans, he functioned as the concussion rehab specialist and department operations.

During his time with the NFL, he participated in multiple committees including the Infectious Disease Committee, General medical Committee, and the International Travel Committee.  After his stint in the NFL, he worked through the global COVID pandemic in Global Patient Operations, facilitating international healthcare across a large hospital system.  Due to his exposure to the healthcare crisis that the pandemic created he authored an article in the Journal of Immigrant and Minority Health in 2021 titled, “Reducing Barriers to language Assistance During a Pandemic.”

He currently works as an Athletic Trainer and Business Development Representative for UT Health Houston’s Orthopedic Service Line where he helps develop and prepare sport specific concussion return to play protocols and education material.  He attended Texas Lutheran University (BS) and West Virginia University (MS) where he became a board-certified Athletic Trainer.
