Victor Mendoza is a licensed master social worker, and therapist at the UTHealth Houston Center for Eating Disorders. He received his MSW from Wayne State University, where he specialized in interpersonal practice. Victor completed a fellowship at the OCD Institute | Texas, where he received specialty training in the assessment and treatment of OCD, anxiety, and depression, and provided therapy for patients across the residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. He worked previously at the John D. Dingell Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, the Victim’s Assistance Program, Gesher Human Services/Detroit at Work, the Kalamazoo Probation Enhancement Program, and the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Victor broadly specializes in cognitive-behavioral therapies for a range of presenting concerns, with special interest in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and depression. He strictly adheres to evidence-based treatments including Maudsley Family-Based Treatment (FBT), Enhanced Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT-E), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
