‘Do You Know?’ The Office of Employee Assistance & Well-being
As we enter 2023, all employees are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the resources available through UTHealth Houston. To help, the Office of Employee Assistance and Well-being (EAP) has created a “Do You Know?” initiative.
There are six digital options for engaging with Employee Assistance and Well-being resources:
- Well Connected podcast available via Spotify, Apple, Google, UTHealth Houston podcast page
- LinkedIn Group: Employee Assistance & Well-being Programs – UTHealth Houston
- Microsoft Teams Group: Well Connected
- EAP Website
- EAP Newsletter
- Living Well Platform

- Private, confidential, no copay
You have 31 days after the birth or adoption of a child to add the child to your healthcare plan.
- It is the responsibility of the insured to complete and submit the appropriate documentation to add your new dependent to your plan; otherwise, they will not be covered if a healthcare need arises.
- Visit the benefits webpage.
Faculty and staff have access to Your Money Line, a private, personal, confidential financial wellness platform owned and operated by Peter Dunn, one of the top four national experts in personal finances.
Faculty and staff can attend two virtual meditation sessions, available three times a week and on-demand:
Faculty and staff have access to a free, 30-minute legal consultation and discounted legal services for certain providers and issues. Contact 713-500-3327 for more information.

UTHealth Houston has 11 dedicated Nursing Mother Rooms in the Houston Medical Center campus, three at MD Anderson, and two in regional locations. UTHealth Houston is a Mother-Friendly Worksite, holding Silver designation by TexasMotherFriendly.org.
Faculty, staff, and qualifying dependents can participate in an annual health eating and weight management program, called Wondr Health (formerly Naturally Slim). There is no copay, and this program is made available through your UT System health benefits with Blue Cross Blue Shield Texas.
Faculty and staff may take advantage of exclusive discounts on goods and services through several local, state, and national discount programs available to UTHealth Houston employees.
Faculty and staff may participate in two step challenges each year – spring and fall – hosted by the University of Texas System. Employees can register on the Living Well platform, sync their wearable devices, and their steps will automatically be recorded.
- When a step challenge is introduced, employees will receive an email to register for that challenge, create a team, and the steps accumulated during the challenge period will be attributed to that team. Employees can keep track of their steps on the platform.
- These challenges are a friendly competition between all UT System institutions. UTHealth Houston has won the challenge over 10 times.
Managers, faculty, and staff have access to free conflict resolution services with a credentialed, experienced, neutral mediator. To discuss and schedule, please call 713-500-3327 or visit the EAP Conflict Resolution webpage.
