Gale Hogan
When did you join UTHealth Houston? What brought you here?
I first worked for the Trauma and General Surgery Clinic at UT Physicians from 1996 until 2006. Then, I took a position with Houston Methodist Hospital in 2006 to help start their Surgical Residency program. I returned here (home) in August 2013 and worked as assistant nurse manager for Acute Care Surgery. When I started, it was Trauma, Emergency General Surgery and Burns.

I have been the nurse manager and clinic nurse for the last 10 years
What are you most proud of accomplishing?
I am most proud of bringing unity and good management to the Trauma and Emergency General Surgery Clinic. I truly feel like an integral part our team and am very proud of who we are and what we represent, which is providing excellent patient care and customer service.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love communicating with the patients, trying to figure out their needs and helping my physicians to provide excellent follow-up care.
Why have you stayed?
I have stayed because I love being a nurse and love helping our patients.
When you are not at work, how do you spend your time?
I love spending time in my flower garden, growing different types of flowers. After I retire, I hope to expand to growing vegetables as well.
